Li Auto recently completed the delivery of its 400,000th vehicle, its five-seat SUV, the Li L7, at its Beijing delivery center, the company announced today.

Li Auto reached the milestone in 42 months since delivering its first vehicle in December 2019, making it the fastest new car-making brand in China to reach the milestone, it said.

On March 24, Li Auto's cumulative deliveries exceeded 300,000 units. The latest progress means the company has completed its latest 100,000-vehicle delivery in less than four months.

Looking ahead to the second half of 2023, Li Auto will challenge itself to achieve the 40,000-unit monthly delivery mark in the fourth quarter with the L series, it said today, repeating its previous statement.

All of Li Auto's models currently on sale are extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), essentially plug-in hybrids, including the five-seat Li L7 and the six-seat Li L8 and Li L9.

The company delivered a record 32,575 vehicles in June, bringing cumulative deliveries since inception to 396,451, according to figures it announced earlier this month.

Last week -- June 26 to July 2 -- Li Auto sold 6,500 units, down 13.33 percent from 7,500 units the week before, according to data shared by the company yesterday.

Li Auto's Li L7 sold 2,800 units last week, according to data shared by local auto media outlet Dongchedi.

Earlier today, 36kr reported that Li Auto has told its supply chain that it is raising its sales forecast for the second half of the year to about 240,300 units.

Li Auto expects to sell more than 35,000 units a month on average in the third quarter and more than 42,000 units a month in the fourth quarter, according to the report.

The company is on track to see sales of more than 380,000 units for the full year, far exceeding the 300,000 sales target it set at the beginning of the year, considering it delivered 139,000 units in the first half of the year, according to the report.

Nio reaches 1,500 swap stations in China as it aims for 2,300 by year-end

's battery swap stations in China have served a cumulative total of more than 24 million times today, averaging more than 50,000 services per day.

Nio (NYSE: NIO) has reached a new milestone in the number of battery swap stations in China, as it continues to build its iconic replenishment facility.

Nio today put five new battery swap stations into operation in China, bringing the total to 1,500, 410 of which are located along highways, according to data released today by the electric vehicle (EV) maker.

At the same time, Nio's battery swap stations in China have accumulated more than 24 million services today, averaging more than 50,000 services per day.

On average, a vehicle leaves Nio's battery swap stations with a fully charged battery every 1.8 seconds, the company said, adding that more than 60 percent of NIO vehicles' power comes from these stations.

Currently, 72.44 percent of Nio owners can find a battery swap station within 3 kilometers of their home or office, Nio said.

Here's a video Nio shared on its mobile app about the historical changes in the number of its battery swap stations.

In addition to providing Nio owners with fully charged batteries, battery swap stations are small, distributed energy storage sites.

Nio's 1,500 battery swap stations can store a total of about 1.36 million kWh of energy, saving about RMB 300 million yuan a year in electricity costs in China, considering that electricity costs are lower at night, the company said.

These stations can also participate in load regulation on the grid, helping it accommodate more electricity generated from clean energy sources such as wind and photovoltaics, Nio said.

Nio allows consumers to purchase vehicles that include batteries, or rent batteries without buying them. In addition, the company allows owners who have purchased or leased a 70-kWh or 75-kWh standard-range battery pack the flexibility to upgrade to a 100-kWh long-range pack.

To date, Nio has provided more than 80,000 flexible battery upgrades, it said.

Nio also put 10 supercharging stations into operation today, bringing the total to 1,450, offering 7,156 charging piles. It added an additional 2 destination charging stations today, bringing the total to 1,277, offering 9,048 charging piles.

Nio completed its first battery swap station in Shenzhen on May 20, 2018. Its initial 200 battery swap stations are first-generation facilities, with its first second-generation battery swap station coming into operation on April 15, 2021.

Nio's third-generation battery swap station, unveiled at the Nio Day 2022 event on December 24, 2022, can store up to 21 battery packs, up from 13 in its previous generation and five in the first generation of the facility. These latest-generation stations began operations on April 12.

Nio announced plans late last year to add 400 battery swap stations by 2023, though that plan was raised to 1,000 on February 21.

William Li, Nio's founder, chairman and CEO, said at the time that the company would further accelerate the deployment of battery swap stations, with a goal of having more than 2,300 battery swap stations in China by the end of 2023.

The company will deploy about 100 battery swap stations in June and more quickly thereafter, which will help boost sales, Li said during Nio's first-quarter earnings call on June 9.

Nio has added a total of 52 battery swap stations so far this month, according to data monitored by CnEVPost.

Nio added a battery swap station in the Netherlands on June 22, bringing the number of such stations in the country to six.

To date, Nio has 17 battery swap stations and 8 charging stations in Europe.

By the end of May, Leapmotor had delivered 192,962 vehicles since its inception, data monitored by CnEVPost showed. Today's milestone means that Leapmotor has delivered 7,038 vehicles so far this month.

NIO (NYSE: NIO) today saw its cumulative battery swap service reach 20 million, with an average of 45,000 services provided daily.

The electric vehicle (EV) maker announced the milestone today on its mobile app, just 273 days, or nine months after it saw its 10 millionth battery swap service on July 4 of last year.

It took the company 1,506 days, or more than four years, to see its first 10 million battery swap services provided.

On February 5, more than 60 percent of the power NIO provides to owners was provided through battery swap stations, and the facility has become a favorite way for NIO customers to replenish their vehicles, it said.

Currently, NIO's battery swap stations provide an average of more than 45,000 services a day, which equates to an average of one NIO vehicle receiving a fully charged battery from these stations every 1.9 seconds.

The 20 million battery swap services can support more than 5,106 million kilometers of driving and reduce carbon emissions by about 550,286 tons, the company said.

NIO's battery swap stations not only provide vehicles with fully charged batteries but also allow owners to easily upgrade their battery packs.

To date, NIO has provided 63,136 battery upgrades to customers, allowing them to continue to enjoy the benefits of battery technology advancements, the company said.

As of today, NIO has 1,327 battery swap stations and 2,442 charging stations in China, according to data monitored by CnEVPost.

The company's goal is to add 1,000 battery swap stations this year, bringing the facility to 2,300 in China by the end of 2023.

The aggressive infrastructure goal is one of the ways to boost sales, and the company's co-founder and president, Qin Lihong, said in a recent interview with local media that the company hopes swap stations will serve partly as showrooms in less developed cities.

On April 1, William Li, founder, chairman and CEO of NIO, reiterated that the company's of battery swap station network is open to other brands and compared the service to cloud services.

NIO's battery swap stations have a good degree of adaptability and the time has come to offer their output to the outside, Li said.
